Live Green Team

Colorado State University

Sustainability and stewardship of the environment is not a partisan issue, nor is it just a national issue - it is a global issue. The Live Green Team is pleased to have a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to play an important quality control recycling role with a landmark event - the Democratic National Convention, August 25-28 in Denver.

All Volunteer Shifts are Full!

The DNCC Green Team has set a goal of 85 percent waste diversion for the event. Because of our expertise and experience with large volume efforts, the Live Green Team will lead volunteer recruiting efforts for quality control recycle sorters. Not only is this a critical component to meeting recycling targets, it is an opportunity to demonstrate just how serious CSU is about sustainability.

How many recycle sorter volunteers are needed?

Our goal is to fill all 520 Green Team sorting crew volunteer shifts with students and members of the Colorado State University community, including our alumni, supporters, friends and neighbors in Fort Collins and across the state.

What will sorting crew volunteers do?

The sorting crew plays an integral quality control role. If items are not sorted properly they can’t be claimed as recycled. We are recruiting volunteers to work on the waste diversion sort crews at both the Convention Center and the Pepsi Center - right where all the action will be.

Duties may require standing, reaching, and lifting outdoors. You will get dirty, but it’s worth it!

How will volunteers get to Denver?

Free roundtrip transportation will be available from Fort Collins to the Convention Center.

Will someone tell volunteers what to do?

Training will be offered in Denver on August 23. A training video will be available online August 24 and it will be shown on the buses transporting volunteers to the Convention Center.

Show your CSU Live Green Pride

T-shirts and other CSU Live Green items will be provided to sorting crew volunteers. Extra t-shirts, water and hand-wipes will be available on the bus for volunteers returning from their shifts.
